Welcome to another installation of Freshies; a series of posts intended to get right to the most important part of the program: the photography.
In this round: Mountain Biking in Leavenworth, Washington.
In a couple of hours I’ll hop in my truck for another trip over the Cascade Mountains. Destination: Leavenworth Washington. On the surface, a Bavarian themed tourist trap complete with a polka gazebo. Just below the surface you’ll discover the single greatest concentration of outdoor sporting opportunities the dry side of Washington State has to offer, and a boatload of like minded enthusiasts with whom to climb, ride, ski and enjoy post facto beers.
This town lost three of it’s most dynamic and welcoming members to an avalanche last winter, but their spirits live on, and I relish every chance I get to spend time in their community and celebrate their memories.
Here are a handfull of photos from my last trip to ‘Der Town’.

Love these shots. It’s amazing how many people think of Leavenworth as just the Bavarian tourist trap but miss the biking, the rock climbing, the river rafting or the skiing.
Love the first shot. Looks like that decent would get the heart pumping.
Were these shot with the Olympus?
